The love, strength and selflessness of Athina’s parents, who live in France, close to Monaco and whose daughter suffers from ichtyosis, have generated a spontaneous voluntary help group to give them assistance and support. 
The joint action of the family and voluntary helpers gave rise to a strong idea : to give Athina the opportunity of a real life.             

                   The way the group intends to help is by sponsoring research and information on that disease.

                 The Engine is due to a fortuitous meeting, in March 2004, of the mother of Athina with Flavie FLAMENT,  TV show wowan . This day of March 2004, the mother of Athina walked her daughter in her maxi-cosi. Flavie FLAMENT, accompanied by her husband Benjamin GASTALDI and their  child named Enzo, passed by there, the chance, a fortunate coincidence. The conversation began and Flavie FLAMENT too. She promised this day there her total engagement and her assistance as well for the constitution of an association as for its promotion. In the TV hebdo of  18 to 24 July 2004, joined to tens of regional daily newspapers whose Nice-Matin, an interview was devoted to her." With the question " Which would be your secret garden, to take again the title of a number of Sagas? " she answered: " For the dream, it would be the diving. For the more useful things, I would have asked for a subject on the association which I assemble with the mother of Athina, small girl a 7 month old affected by a genetic disease, a ichtyose of the Arlequin type, which causes a permanent exfoliation of the skin. I crossed them by chance in the street and it was a sunbeam in my life. I took a sublime slap and I found which utility could have my public image. "

                  She renewed this engagement in France Dimanche (n° 3021 - week of  23 to July 29 2004): "... Because a new child upsets the life of Flavie today! This child is called Athina ".        

                   And this slap did not remain without effect, since Flavie encouraged the creation of the Association which quickly found its 10 founder members. Today, Flavie thus launches out in this new combat. A fight counters the disease, for Athina, of course, and for all the other children affected by like her. By agreeing to be godmother and  ambassadress of this association, the young woman wants to try to return a little happiness that the life offered to her: " I found which utility could have my public image ", she still says, with frankness and humility...                          

                The Goal of the association is clearly defined in the remarks of Flavie FLAMENT: a fight against Athina’s disease, for Athina, and all the other children affected by ichtyosis. A scientific council will determine the type of research and the centers best adapted to this task. For 3 years of research, in one center, the budget is about 250.000 to 300.000 euros. It certainly is a large amount of money,   but it seems very small, considering the life of a child and of hundreds of other children. No obstacle can discourage those who are already involved or will be involved in the battle for Athina.
 

                 The statutes were deposited on October 5 2004 near the Department of the Interior to the Ministry of State of Monaco.

                Association was authorized and the statutes approved by the ministerial decree n° 2004-597 of December 10 2004.

                The Assembly constitutive naming the administrators and the Board of directors allotting the various positions were held on January 12 2005.
